My Beautiful Darling! !

You are beautiful
Not only because of the curve of your hips
Or the shape of your body
Not only because of the fullness of your lips
Or the curl of your eye lashes

You are beautiful because you want to be
You are beautiful because God made you that way
You are beautiful because in your eyes
There is no one more beautiful than you.

You are beautiful because you have a heart
And that is a beautiful thing
You are beautiful because you have a brain
And that is a beautiful thing
You are beautiful because you give advice
And that is a beautiful thing

You are beautiful because you want to be
You are beautiful because God made you that way
You are beautiful because in your eyes
There is no one more beautiful than you.

You are beautiful because you have determination and wit
You are beautiful because you have goals and you plan to reach them
You are beautiful because you are always there to lend a helping hand

                                               After I read the poem, "My beautiful darling!!" by ,"Samuel Newton" the idea of the poem is a speaker who is a male mate that is writing to his female mate how she is beautiful because of all the  features she has that he points out. I think this is the idea of the poem because in the beginning of the poem the speaker says "You are beautiful, Not only because of the curve of your hips" this statement best portrays that the speaker is a boy and is talking about a girl because the features he explains such as the curve of your hips is usually found in a female not a male. I as well think that the male speaker is talking about the lovely features of his loved girl because the speaker says "You are beautiful because you have confidence, You are beautiful because you have determination and wit, You are beautiful because you have goals and you plan to reach them, You are beautiful because you are always there to lend a helping hand" when the speaker says this statement he explains how he loves the girl because she is confident, has goals and plans to reach them, is always their to help and is determined to do anything  This is one way of how the male speaker thinks of his girl. I as well think that the male speaker's tone  is proud,confident,brave and kind because when the speaker always says "you "in the beginning this shows appreciation and he is proud of the girl he is talking about. Also the use of diction in this story as well proves how the mood of the poem is as well appreciative and happy. This is best proven with the use of diction of "you,because,helping,reach and there best show appreciation and happiness in the mood. The speaker loves the girl and appreciates her allot because when the speaker says "you", "beautiful", "eyes", "confidence", "determination", "wit", "helping", "hand", "goals", "god", "plan" and "fullness" best shows that the speaker feels those following qualities and that the poem is very cheerful and loving. Through out the poem the speaker's tone doesn't change it remains appreciative and proud because the speaker continually says you,beautiful and because shows he appreciates her and is proud of her. (HOMEWORK 3/22/13)
